Description
Juniperus pingii "Loderi" - is a decorative evergreen coniferous shrub with an unusual dense crown and neat, vertically directed shoots. The plant is valued for its compact growth, dense grey-green needles, and expressive architectural silhouette. Thanks to its small size, the variety is perfect for rockeries, alpine gardens, coniferous compositions, and small gardens.
The main feature of "Loderi" is its dense, narrow-conical crown, formed by numerous short vertical branches. The shoots are very densely arranged and form a picturesque, slightly irregular surface. The needles are small, dense, of a pleasant grey-green or bluish-green hue, which makes the plant stand out effectively among other garden crops.
The variety is characterized by slow growth. An adult plant usually reaches about 1–1.5 m in height, remaining quite compact. Thanks to its naturally beautiful shape, the juniper practically does not need regular shaping pruning.
For planting, it is best to choose sunny areas or light partial shade. In a well-lit place, the crown develops denser, and the color of the needles becomes more expressive. The plant prefers light, well-drained soils and tolerates prolonged water stagnation near the roots poorly.
After rooting, the juniper is quite resistant to short-term drought and does not require complex care. Young plants should be regularly watered after planting. Good frost resistance allows the variety to be used in various garden and landscape compositions.
Juniperus pingii "Loderi" looks especially impressive among decorative stones and gravel, in the foreground and middle ground of coniferous groups. It can be combined with dwarf pines, creeping junipers, golden thujas, ornamental grasses, and groundcover plants.

The planting looks orderly, although the long-term result is still ahead. I checked Juniperus pingii "Loderi" first after opening the box. A full season will give a fairer picture.
