Picea glauca "Alberta Globe" - is a miniature evergreen coniferous shrub with a very dense, rounded crown. The variety is characterized by slow growth, a neat natural shape, and dense bright green needles. Thanks to its compact size, it is perfectly suited for small gardens, rockeries, alpine gardens, and decorative compositions.

The main advantage of "Alberta Globe" is its almost perfectly spherical or slightly cushion-shaped crown, which forms naturally and usually does not require pruning. Numerous short shoots are very densely packed, making the plant look full and voluminous.

The needles are short, soft, and dense, of a rich green color. In spring, young growths have a lighter, fresh green hue and stand out beautifully against the older needles. The plant retains its ornamental value throughout the year.

This variety is very slow-growing. The annual growth usually amounts to only a few centimeters. An adult plant reaches approximately 60–100 cm in height and 80–100 cm in width. Thanks to its slow development, the spruce retains its compact size for decades.

For planting, it is recommended to choose a sunny location or light partial shade. It is advisable to avoid areas with strong winter winds and prolonged waterlogging. The soil should preferably be fertile, moderately moist, loose, and well-drained.

Young plants require regular watering, especially after planting and during hot, dry weather. Mulching the root zone is beneficial, as it helps maintain uniform soil moisture. In early spring, it is advisable to protect the plant from intense sun, which can cause the needles to dry out.

Picea glauca "Alberta Globe" looks particularly effective among decorative stones, in rockeries and alpine gardens, along garden paths, and in the foreground of coniferous compositions. It combines well with junipers, dwarf pines, thujas, barberries, and groundcover perennials.

A small fresh sign appeared at one of the growing points. The plant held its shape once the protective wrapping was removed. This mattered more to me than a promotional promise.

The name on the tag was clear and easy to read. Nothing appeared to have been mixed up in the box. It gave me confidence that the order had been checked.

The parcel arrived within the expected window. The main item in this parcel was Picea glauca 'Alberta Globe' (P15). Nothing suggested that the parcel had been left waiting for long.

The protective material was used where it was actually needed. Each item was easy to remove without pulling at the plant. I did not need to contact the shop again about it.
