Pine "Mugo Mughus" - is a natural form of a slow-growing, decorative, dwarf, evergreen, coniferous tree with a beautiful, spherical crown shape. The shoots are located low above the ground, sprawling. To create a compact and dense form, it is necessary to prune the spring growth "candles". Unlike the "Pumilio" mountain pine, it has a more compact form. "Mugus" mountain pine will be a wonderful addition to your collection of ornamental plants!

At 10 years old, it reaches a height of about 1 m, with a crown diameter of 2 m. In adulthood, the plant reaches up to 2-2.5 m in height, with a diameter of 2-3 m.

Growth rate: slow-growing tree. Annual growth is 15 cm in height and 10 cm in width.

Cones: begin to appear after 6-8 years. Broadly conical, decorative, sessile ovoid or conical cones, light brown or brown in color and up to 2 - 6 cm long, 1.5 -4 cm wide.

Needles: needle-like, rigid, sharp, dark green, up to 4 cm long and arranged in bundles of 2.

Shoots: the pine has short shoots curved upwards.

Bark: on young shoots, it is light green, but over time it becomes bare, dark brown. Root system: the tree has a widely spread root system.

Light requirements: for planting, sunny areas should be chosen, as the Mugus mountain pine does not grow well in the shade.

Soil type: mountain pines grow on all moderately dry or moist, even nutrient-poor soils, but for better growth, fresh, sandy and loamy soils with a slightly acidic reaction should be chosen.

Application: mountain pine is often used in rock gardens, for landscaping slopes, in single and group plantings, for stone gardens, strengthening embankments, small gardens, for growing in containers. It looks great in combination with other coniferous and deciduous plants. It tolerates urban environments well and is therefore used for planting in public parks, for hedges. Climatic zone / frost resistance: 4 - absolute frost resistance throughout Ukraine.
