Description
Thuja occidentalis 'Danica' - is an evergreen dwarf shrub with a dense, spherical crown. By 10 years, it reaches approximately 30–40 cm in height and 40–50 cm in width, while a mature plant grows up to 0.6–0.8 m with a width of about 1 m.
The shoots are dense, bright green, the needles are soft, flat, and scaly, and may turn slightly brownish in winter. With age, the spherical crown becomes more oval. The variety tolerates shaping pruning well and is widely used in ornamental landscaping. Thuja Danica was bred in Denmark in 1948 and is considered one of the most popular dwarf varieties of Western Thuja.
