Hydrangea serrata "Preziosa" is a compact ornamental shrub up to 1.5 m tall, valued for its unusual ability to change the color of its inflorescences throughout the season. The flowers open pale green, then turn rich pink, and by autumn acquire a bright crimson-red or burgundy hue. Unlike most hydrangeas, the color of this variety does not depend on soil acidity. Spherical inflorescences reach 12–15 cm in diameter, and flowering continues from July to September, sometimes until October.
The leaves are bright green with a serrated edge, turning spectacular burgundy-red in autumn. The variety prefers partial shade or areas with morning sun, moist, fertile, and well-drained slightly acidic or neutral soils. It blooms on last year's shoots, so it requires winter protection in regions with harsh winters. Thanks to its compact size and long-lasting ornamental value, Preziosa is excellent for flower beds, mixed borders, container cultivation, and solitary plantings.
