Description
«Mulberry (Black)» is a mulberry: a bright garden element where naturalness combines with a neat shape and expressive texture. Deciduous green foliage emphasizes the natural seasonal rhythm and creates a calm background for flowering or fruiting. Flowering occurs in spring and early summer; the main shade of the flowers is «Greenish, inconspicuous». The plant forms edible fruits; the color of the fruits is «Characteristic for the variety»; ripening usually lasts from July to September.
The variety reveals its decorative qualities best with a properly chosen location and stable, but not excessive, care. Optimal lighting — sun; a warm and, if possible, protected place. Soil — fertile, well-drained; slightly acidic–neutral. Watering — regular during the rooting, flowering, and fruit-filling periods; without waterlogging. Frost resistance — medium–high, approximately up to −15…−25 °C.
In garden design, the plant is valued for its plasticity and ability to harmoniously support different planting styles. Best use scenarios — fruit garden; compact/heat-loving cultures — large container. The main advantages of «Mulberry (Black)» — edible harvest, extended fruiting period, self-fertility, suitability for container cultivation and the architectural silhouette of the mature plant. To maintain its shape, it is sufficient to adhere to the following pruning scheme: formative and sanitary; timing and intensity depend on the culture and type of fruiting. Pollination feature — often self-fertile; depends on the variety.
