Description
Tulipa tarda is a species (botanical) tulip valued for its compactness, unpretentiousness, and ability to grow well over time. Unlike classic garden varieties, it looks more "natural" and is often used in natural plantings, alpine slides, and rockeries.
The plant is short - usually 10-20 cm, forming several flowers on one stem, which is rare for tulips. The flowers open wide in the sun, about 4-6 cm in diameter. The color is contrasting: the petals are white, with a bright yellow center, which makes the flower very noticeable despite its compact size. In cloudy weather, the buds may close. The scent is light and pleasant.
